Super happy customer!

Best customer service ever. They've helped me numerous times. Excellent customer service. People are only complaining when they should be grateful! Obviously this company is set up for people who have bad or sketchy credit. People complaining need to understand that is why they charge sometimes higher interest. But if you pay early and on time they lower the interest rate. This is supposed to be short term loans. I love Wilshire credit and how they helped me. Highly recommended!

Wilshire Credit - The people are fine, the business model is disappointing
Updated by user Jul 10, 2019

the loan was paid, the contract was followed.

Original review Jul 10, 2019
Preface - I can't fault a customer service rep, or even any manager who worked there. They need a job, they need to pay the bills too. I'm confident that if there was another career path open to them with the same pay, they would leave this company (as stated by a few customer services reps I spoke with). my loan - it was a tile loan for my car for $4000. I needed to take this loan to move to another state, and due to financial circumstances, was my only option. likes - they funded me the money without even checking the car and I had the money the next day, exactly what I needed. There was no "penalty" for paying off the loan early. dislikes - again, not with the people, it's the business model. 1. The interest rate - it was 73% and compounded daily (payments attached) where a $273 payment for June, $267.86 went to the interest, $5.05 went to the principal. 2. the pay off interest and deferred expenses. I got my principal balance down to $3873.62, and just wanted to pay it off completely. Although there were no "penalties" for paying the balance off, there was added interest and a deferred expense, which no one at wilshire credit was able to explain to me what that was other than "it's a fee assessed for paying off the loan early" seemed to me, that meant a penalty, but called by a different name. 3. closing the account is proving difficult. the amount was paid and it took several phone calls and escalations to a manger to get any confirmation number, anything in writing that showed the contract is done and they were giving my title back. They advised me that they need to keep the account open for three days for some reason. conclusion - I would not recommend wilshire credit or any "predatory loan". Look, I'll take responsibility for my actions, I made some financial mistakes in the past, and i'm in process of fixing them. because of my past discretions, my only option was to get a quick loan. Wilshire credit was there, but not to save the day, but rather, take advantage of the situation. To Wilshire credit - and that anonymous guy who comments on these posts who is obviously working for wilshire credit: you have to know that the only reason people come to you is because they have no other choice, they are coming to you in dire straits. If they could have asked a friend to borrow the money, they would have, but they don't, we don't. and I'm sure I'll get a comment "Serial deabeat, blah blah blah, you should have made better financial decisions in the past, you knew what you were getting into, and you CHOSE to come to us." The thing is, you're right, I SHOULD have made better decisions and if I had a time machine, i would go back in time so I'd never have to deal with a loan like this. and you're partially right about choosing to take the loan knowing what the contract stated. the thing is, I tried getting a small loan from other places and was denied. I needed the money right away, and my only option was a predatory title loan, the only reason I chose Wilshire credit because it had the best reviews (2 stars instead of 1). I feel like you know this, you know that we are looking for help, and you see that we are struggling, and instead of helping, you only saw dollar signs at the expense of the already downtrodden. Sure, you give us the loan, but we end up becoming something like an indentured servant to pay off the loan that ends up twice the amount as we took. Bottom line, I compare wilshire credit to a mob boss or a loan shark, the only difference i see is that wilshire credit won't break your legs

Pros:
  • Customer service folks were nice
Cons:
  • Practices
  • Contract in general
  • Business model
Reason of review:
The interest rates are too high

Preferred solution: work on a better business model so that people WANT to come to you, rather than feel like they have no choice, i'm sure you would get more business that way, from people wwho ctually have the money to pay off their debts.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This has to be the worst company on the plant, I wish I would have never ever done this, I signed up for the loan telling them I am only paid once a month at the end of the month. They send me a bill in the middle of the month due for the 15th, I immediately call them and they tell me after I make my first payment they will change my payment to the 30th, I call these __and they tell me the only day they have available is the 16th which means I am continuing to accrue late fees and every time I make a payment my balance never changes. I spoke to a manager whom didn't care, they set you up for failure so they can constantly make money off your hardship and are very unreasonable. Then the interest rate is %129 percent annually. They are a total rip off! If you have a hardship just find another way people this isn't it. I pray they go out of business and if I could find a loop whole to sue these people I would sue.

IN 2007 WILSHIRE CREDIT CORPORATION FORECLOSED ON MY HOUSE WHEN I WASN'T LATE. AT THE TIME MY MOTHER WAS DYING IN THE HOSPITAL AND THE DAY AFTER HER DEATH I STARTED TO GET THREATENING PHONE CALLS FROM WILSHIRE CREDIT. I TOLD THEM THAT IF THEY DID NOT STOP I WAS GOING TO SUE THEM. ALL OF A SUDDEN I STARTED TO GET LETTERS FROM THEM STATING THAT THEY WERE RAISING MY INTEREST RATE TO OVER 25%. ARE THEY CRAZY...MY MORTGAGE WENT FROM 1500. TO 1700. TO 2000. A MONTH. THEY WANTED PAPER WORK OF MY FINANCIALS . I PUT MY HOUSE UP FOR SALE AND EVERYTIME I GOT A BID THEY TURNED IT DOWN. THE REALTOR GOT DISGUSTED AND TOLD THEM TO F THEMSELVES. THE NEXT FEW WEEKS THEY KEPT HARRASSING ME..TOLD ME THEY WERE FORECLOSING...THIS TOOK 2 YEARS. THEY HAD MY ELECTRIC TURNED BACK ON WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE AFTER I TURNED IT OFF AND PAID IN FULL. THEY USED MY NAME AND SS NUMBER... I WAS NEVER LATE WITH MY MORTGAGE PAYMENTS. I RECEIVED FORECLOSURE PAPERS JAN.9TH' 2009 THEY SOLD MY HOUSE FEB. 3RD 2009 ON THE COURT STEPS FOR WAY LESS THEN THE OFFERS FROM THE REALTORS.. IN FACT THE PERSON WHO PURCHASED THE HOUSE WAS WILSHIRES ATTORNEY WHO CONTACTED ME...HE PURCHASED IT FOR A FAMILY MEMBER.

You clearly were late, and did not understand the process. Your payment went up when they completed your escrow analysis.

IF you were sending in payments, it was for the wrong amount. Yes they turned the utilities on, you vacated the house. Try reading your Mortgage or Deed of Trust. That'll explain ..

You have no one but yourself to blame for this.

You're clearly not responsible enough to have a house. I would encourage you to hire an attorney, they can explain what you did wrong.

Guest

Your "story" is full of holes and only a sorry, low IQ serial deadbeat would fall for your very obvious BS! They would have had NO IDEA your mother allegedly died and if she was late, their BILL COLLECTORS will call.

They are bound by the terms of the contract just like the borrower. They WILL NOT raise the payment on a conventional mortgage. If she had an adjustable, that adjustment was the deal.

When you sell a mortgaged property, the ONLY thing the lender wants is the payoff value and as long as that figure is met, that's all they care about. Next time you want to find fault with a lender because you don't like the consequences YOU caused by YOU not paying on time, why not do your homework so at least your "story" can sound believable to more than the sorry, serial, low IQ deadbeats and no, I don't work for them.

I just discovered this website, and recently came across several of these posts from anonymous with similar linguistic patterns. I'm assuming they are all from you, at least the ones where the words "low IQ" and "serial Deadbeats" are concerned.

My question to you is this, if you state you don't work there, why the passion to defend them so much? Why do you feel it's your duty to respond and trash the people on here?

You say things like nice story" and their posts are full of falsehoods, but then, you make a statement about their lives as if you're correct, with no facts, or evidence to support it, which, by definition, is a "story" Hypocrisy aside, what I really want to know is, who hurt you anon? who hurt you?

The ONLY Complainers...

The ONLY complainers of these lenders are serial deadbeats who whine, wail and throw their temper tantrums because they just can't stand the consequences they brought upon themselves by NOT paying on time! That's a FACT!

Just read what these whiners write! Those who pay their bills on time, have nothing to complain about!

Hey deadbeats? Now's the time to write back "you must work for them"!

This guy doesn't sound like a deadbeat complainer ..... Last Nov of 2017 I paid off loan to Wilshire Consumer.

After laying off the loan the company issued me a check for $200 for overpayment. The check was never cashed which i verified and have proof from my Credit union Navy Federal that it was never cashed. I have called several times asking for the check to be reissued. When I call the people that offer loans hear me just fine but CS says they cannot hear me even when I call from a landline.

I believe the have my line blocked. I have called twice a week for the last 4 months and they always act as if they cannot hear me. I just want my money back. This company is dishonest and has no integrity.

Do the right thing and give me the $200 that you owe me just as I paid back the loan that was given to me. Sorry ,but, with all of these negative reviews ,there's no way I ,myself nor my referral clients would ever consider doing any business with you.

Very disappointed after seeing your ads for years. Clean up your act .

Nathan L Xtv

I did pay off my loan, in three months, and I still have personal dislikes with the company and how they operate their business. We chose to go into these loans, yes.

We chose Wilshire credit because it was the only option we had left and they were the best out of a bad situation. Wilshire credit is not a place I would go to if my credit was good and that's why I see this as a bad company.

It would be nice if WIlshire Credit had a business model that, if I had perfect credit, I would still want to do business with them because they offer better value propositions. I'm sure they would agree, they could could get more business if they were able to attract people that wanted to use their services, rather than attracting the customers that need them as their last resort.

Here's An Idea

All these SERIAL DEADBEATS who blame the lender for the consequences they brought upon themselves by not paying on time, should all get together in one place. The SMELL eminating from that place would be enough to kill all the bugs within a 100 mile area!!!!

They Are Predatory Lenders

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They violated our agreement by doubling the loan amount and after 3 years of ontime payment it didnt decrease a bit. They reported wrong amount of my loan and had 3 loans down, then i had a huge financial hardship and refused to discuuss it with me but instead called me 7 days a week leaving messages on any number they found yelling at me telling me that if istill had income there shouldbe payments. Had me crying having an emotional break down. They went out of their way to report to every companypossible after leaving us stranded two disabledolder people. We lost out way to go to doctor toget help noe ive been without a house since last year when they falsely reported and had businesses falsley reporting lies. My life will be ruined. I will be dropped from school if I dont have access to a stable internet access to successfully do my course work. They called my family landlord and any person who checked my credit the y took it to the level of seeking them out to report. I had my loan go up 2 times bigger than my loan

Same old sorry deadbeat whining! The ONLY reason your balance doesn't go down is because YOU don't pay on time!

YOU run up late fees and YOU generate extra interest by YOU not paying on time. Of course, that's all their fault, right? They are coming after you because YOU pay late or not at all and of course, your feeble response is "they are predatory lenders".

As someone else may have said, the reason you are with them is because YOU wouldn't pay other lenders on time either! You people who live a life of being a serial deadbeat make decent people want to throw up.

Guest

You say you have a financial hardship. That means YOU paid creditors late or not at all.

That impacted YOUR credit reputation. Of course, YOU not paying on-time is nothing new to YOU.

YOU were placed with this subprime deadbeat lender because of YOUR self made credit reputation, otherwise you would have been approved by a bank with a much lower APR. Why not tell THE WHOLE STORY instead of trying to play multiple sympathy cards to try to justify your acknowledged history of bad credit???

Illegal Financial Practices by Wilshire Credit Services.

Wilshire Credit Services is Scamming there customers by charging them a $10.00 late fee due to the fact that Wilshire Credit Union will send you your monthly statement for payment late so they can collect an additional $10.00 each month for late fees. Once you mail your payment to then they receive it and then they submit it to another department within Wilshire Credit Services to make your payment late. Example my payment is due on the 21st of each month,so I mail it on the 16th of each month from Losangeles,ca going to losangeles,ca and 10 miles from my house and they still charge me an additional $10.00 and say your late. " You do the math!" If they do that to every client each month Wilshire Credit stands to make a lot of additional cash each month by there illegal practices. We will be contacting our Attorney General as well as the District Attorney of Losangeles. Thanks. ( Also do not trust there people in customer service there part of the Illegal Stealing at Wilshire Credit Services. ) "Real *** of a Company!)

Ha, ha, ha! Still another whining deadbeat who just doesn't have the brain power to figure things out.

If they are just ten miles away, pay it in person! Why not get a checking account and pay on line? (Let me guess, you've had so many overdraft fees the banks won't even give you a checking account!). Oh yes, they are so, so terrible.

They are scammers.

They are so, so illegal! You sorry, stinking, serial deadbeats make decent people want to throw up!

Ha ha ha! Guess what?

It's still another sorry, serial deadbeat who thinks they are a legal expert! It's straight out of the Serial Deadbeat handbook! It's up to YOU to get the payment in on time rather than mailing it at the last minute! Why not get a checking account and make the payment on line?

Oh, let me guess, you have so many overdrafts you can't even get a checking account! How impressive!

I have been a previous customer, and just recently got a title loan. My car was not the best but they were able to work with me because I had fairly good credit. I got a low rate although my vehicle had little value and the process was great. Thanks to Mauricio and Angelica I was able to get same day funding. I love Wilshire Consumer Credit and keep coming back. As long as you pay early you do not pay high interest. They're speed to funding is what surprised me. Since my credit was decent, they did not ask me for that many documents. I really have enjoyed the whole experience and definitely would refer to friends and family. Thank you WCC and kudos to Mauricio and Angelica.

"Do you work for them?" That's the sorry, worn out, immature whining always from some sorry serial deadbeat who just can't stand the consequences THEY brought on THEMSELVES by not paying on time! The ONLY people who complain about this lender, or all the others, are people who don't pay on time.

Just read the complaints! People like you who DO WHAT YOUR PROMISED TO DO when YOU signed the contract, NEVER have any problems! THAT'S AN OBVIOUS FACT! Just keep on paying on time and you will NEVER have any problems.

When you need some laughs, just come back here are read the whiner's reports. They don't pay on time then come here to stomp their feet because THEY CAUSED late charges, extra interest, calls from bill collectors and repo's. Another of their favorite games is "let's change the due date game". When the lender won't have any of that BS, they stomp their feet even more.

See, these sorry, serial deadbeats don't have the brain power to figure it out. You? You're doing it right! Like I said before, when you pay on time, you NEVER, EVER have ANY problems!

Begore I forget, for you sorry deadbeats who can't put together an intelligent rebuttal, let me save you some effort. I don't work for them either!
